Today, CoinVault Pro’s recognition — the Gemini AI vision model plus Coin-CLIP image matching — runs in the cloud and needs a connection. This page describes what is coming, plainly labeled as upcoming, because we would rather be accurate than exciting.
Why offline matters more than it sounds
If you have collected for any length of time, you already know the moments this feature is for. The coin show in a metal-and-concrete convention hall where signal goes to die, with a dealer waiting on your decision. The basement or attic where an inherited collection surfaces. The flea market two towns past reliable coverage. These are precisely the moments when an instant identification and value check matter most — a purchase decision is happening now, not when you find WiFi.

What offline recognition will mean for Pro users
The plan is simple to state: Pro subscribers will be able to point their camera at a coin and get an identification with no connection at all, with the app syncing back up when you are online again. Offline capability is planned as a Pro-tier feature, joining the other benefits of the subscription.
Until it ships, a practical workaround at no-signal venues is to photograph coins carefully and scan the photos once you are connected — you lose the instant answer but keep the identification, grading estimate, and sold-price valuation.
